Zion A Happy Home Foundation
Afghanistan, officially the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, is a landlocked country located at the crossroads of Central and South Asia. Referred to as the Heart of Asia, it is bordered by Pakistan to the east and south, Iran to the west, Turkmenistan to the northwest, Uzbekistan to the north, Tajikistan to the northeast, and China to the northeast and east. As of 2021, the nation's population was 40.2 million, composed mostly of ethnic Pashtuns, Tajiks, Hazaras, and Uzbeks. Kabul is the country's largest city and serves as its capital.

Afghanistan is now facing one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises. The Afghan economy has no cash to pay salaries or buy food. Western aid has been suspended because the Taliban government includes designated terrorists. And millions of Afghans face acute malnutrition and starvation. More so, the destruction of properties and schools has left many Afghans stranded with no shelter, resulting in many of them sleeping in the streets and destroying buildings. The education of children and the younger population, in general, hangs in the balance. What becomes of them, should the situation be not addressed? Worse is the fact that the Taliban lacks the capacity to manage these monumental challenges, but there is no clear alternative to their rule. These are the reasons why Zion A Happy Home Foundation chose Afghanistan as one of our countries of focus, for the implementation of our Year of Meaningful Life Transformation agenda for street children, adults, orphans the physically disabled, mentally deranged, prisoners, the aged and the Underprivileged.
