The Sustainable Development Goals number 1, 2 and 3 advocate for No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Good health and Well-being. Pakistan, officially the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, is a country in South Asia. It is the world's fifth-most populous country, with a population of almost 242 million, and has the world's second-largest Muslim population. This country has been the victim of natural disasters and chronic political and economic turmoil. These volatile conditions have led to high rates of poverty and hunger in the country.

In Pakistan, about 20% of the population is undernourished, equating to nearly 40 million people who are not getting enough nutrients on a daily basis. This is nearly double the percentage of people worldwide who are undernourished. Almost a quarter of Pakistanis live below the poverty line. These high rates of poverty, undernutrition and malnutrition have led to infant mortality and stunting. 38% of Pakistani children under the age of five suffer stunting. In some regions, the percentage of children who experience stunting is nearly 50%. The 2019 United Nations evaluation report on Maternal and Child Stunting reduction, holds that Pakistani children experience some of the highest stunting rates in the world. Guided by this worrisome information, ZION A HAPPY HOME FOUNDATION is determined to assist this nation in combating hunger and its related problems, especially amongst children and the underprivileged. How? By providing monthly food supplies and equally initiating free livelihood skills training schemes to promote self-employment and financially empower the less privileged.
