Zion A Happy Home Foundation
Maroua is the capital of the Far North Region of Cameroon, stretching along the banks of the Ferngo and Kaliao Rivers, in the foothills of the Mandara Mountains. According to the 2020 census the city had 1007000 inhabitants and comprises mainly of the Fulbe/Fulani ethnic group.

The Lake Chad crisis that began in 2009 is a complex humanitarian emergency precipitated by climate change, extreme poverty and cross-border conflict.
In a place like Maroua with limited infrastructure, social inequalities, poverty and regular droughts, the crisis has displaced thousands of people, who have been left at risk of extreme violence and with limited access to opportunities such as education, skills training, employment and Health care facilities. Boko Haram insurgence has further emphasized the need for more alternative measures to accommodate and occupy the idle predominantly unskilled population of Maroua and equally promote the creation of more self-employment opportunities. This is the reason why ZION A HAPPY HOME FOUNDATION has opened a Free Vocational Training Centre at Complex Fassao in Doualare Maroua II Community to enable the entire people of Maroua to benefit from free livelihood skills training in the domains of Tailoring, Hairdressing, ICT, Arts and Craft, Electricity, Plumbing, Barbing, Welding Interior and Exterior Decoration. Notably, this centre also trains refugees from the Republic of Tchad and other neighbouring African countries, ex-convicts to name a few. The expected outcome of this centre is to enable denizens of Maroua and these refugees to become self-reliant and sustainable by extension addressing the problems of idleness, unemployment, poverty, crime wave, hunger and starvation. More so, the centre is intended to train 210 people every year. It is ZAHAHF's best wish to see that a free Vocational Training centre is opened in all the 10 regions of Cameroon and if possible in all sub-divisions all over the nation. PARTNER and SUPPORT US transform this intention into a life-impacting reality for the needy.
